At The Schreifer Group, we aspire to a work environment that encourages health, wellness, camaraderie – and fun! Last summer, we embarked on a year-long, company-wide fitness challenge to accumulate enough miles to travel from Washington, DC to the furthest-west location of one of our team members in Utah. Titled, "TSG Across America," our challenge aimed to promote health and wellness among our all-remote team.
The journey covered approximately 3,548 miles. We encouraged everyone to contribute miles through various activities, whether it was walking, running, cycling, or any other form of exercise. The idea was simple: get moving, track miles, and reach our collective goal.
Creative at Work and Creative at Play!
One of the most fun aspects about this challenge was the creative way in which everyone contributed miles. Many employees embarked on new activities, ventured outside more often, and found creative ways to get our miles in.
Some of the activities logged included:
Hiking
Backpacking
Paddle Boarding
Canyoneering
Nordic Skiing
Alpine Skiing
Running
Cycling
Each week during our team meetings, we monitored our progress towards the group goal, allowing one other to share about their activities from the week. Not only did we enjoy the challenge of being active, but we also got to hear about the team’s adventures and successes.
We had a great time exploring new hobbies, encouraging each other, and staying active. Check out the pics below for some highlights from our challenge and other ways we enjoy pursuing physical fitness!
