
Alan O'Connell
Planner and Urban Designer
Alan O’Connell is a planner and urban designer with a broad background in community planning, affordable housing, and transportation planning. He specializes in community engagement, economic impact analysis, and urban design. Currently based in Cleveland, Alan also has extensive experience as a former Director of Mapping for a zoning and geospatial analysis consultancy in Chicago. Alan currently serves as the President of the nonprofit community relations board, Downtown Cleveland Residents, and serves on the boards of the Historic Downtown Cleveland Design Review Committee, Green Ribbon Coalition, and Public Square Preservation Committee.
He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Geography from Kent State University, a Master of City and Regional Planning degree from Ohio State University, and is currently enrolled in the final semester of the Master of Urban Design program at Kent State University’s Cleveland Urban Design Collaborative.
